Have you guys tried this? You list an item on amazon to sell, then when you receive replies, you promptly tell the inquiree that it's been sold, but they can find it for less via your affiliate link. I haven't yet tried this method, but youtube video and even an "amazon" pdf says it's a sure fire way to make money.
I read about this method some time ago. I invested some time in listing items. When I would get an email about the item, I would then reply it sold however it was available cheaper online and proved the amazon link. I got lots of reply's but zero orders after much work. Not sure why it was not successful. Seems pretty smart. Follow up thoughts: I would like someone else to try and tell me if they have success. Maybe I was missing something.
People see right through that (at least I would). People shop CL because they want a used item cheap and local; Amazon isn't usually as cheap and it's not local so it fails both conditions.
Yeah, I'm assuming it wouldn't work. However, what about lightning deals? I saw a watch listed at $800 drop to $129.99 today. That's gotta be something, right?
Yeah lightning deals rock but unless you have a mailing list or an active following on Facebook or YouTube it might be hard to cash in on those on a regular basis. Definitely worth a shot and when I have more time would like to explore them.
So far, this experiment has yielded 2 emails, no click throughs, no purchases. This affiliate thing is harder than I thought it would be.
This might work with groupon or living social since the deals are local. But you'll have to be on top of every deal and I guess say my friend was going to buy from them before they knew I was selling or doing the same thing.
I've tried amazon local deals, not a lot of bites. As far as the craigslist vs amazon thing, I've only received 1 hit and they didn't buy. Seems as though they are looking for a super deal not just online sales
