I am an amazon affiliate. never got one product selled( I put those banner link on my site). I am wondering is it possible get big check from amazon? and any secrets about that?
You'll have to do more than just adding banner links.. Here's something I copied from one of the discussion at Associates Central, the income of one associate just for the first three weeks of April : It is just a thought on what you really do with a good content based site. Mine is nowhere near there though..
Having had very little success with the Amazon aff prog I was wondering the same thing. Commission of $1000+ in a month is encouraging though. I'll keep working on it! T
I've sold a couple of things through Amazon, but I think to make big commissions you'd need a niche site with a reasonable amount of traffic (e.g. Outpost Gallifrey).
I do get filks clicking on both my items for sale as well as books/media but, no one has bought anything (yet) . This is really a numbers game and time will tell. I do get clicks on my AdSense stuff and have accumulated about $25.00 so far by just having a link. Dave
If you have a high traffic site, and u link to highly targeted items, then yes: u can make good money. I don't make much. In fact, I recently had a negative balance because a few people returned items they bought via my affiliate links. That was an unwelcome surprise AmCy
I get a deposit from Amazon every month and don't do much work to get it. The trick is to promote new products that haven't been promoted to death and get ranked before the vultures descend on the new products. Also, avoid traditional SEO advice as it'll kill off your affiliate site fast; Google's not a fan of the micro niche site concept. Also, read some of the studies about how anchor text with 5-7 words converts better than others and start incorporating that into your content. Product choice isn't too terribly important either as long as it's something people buy online and that is between say $50-250. One thing that works for me is to build a lot of small sites around a small set of cheaper products with limited selection and a nice prominently displayed call to action graphic. This has brought me decent commissions every month and since no one focuses on the cheap products I have virtually no competition and my sites rank naturally without spammy SEO stuff in 1-2 months on page one of the Google SERP.
You can do well with Amazon but it takes some time. It's one of those things that builds upon itself. Build a site with good content that helps people and uses the links and the commissions will come eventually.
It certainly does take time and what works for you might not be to someone else's liking. It doesn't have to be a store or something high tech, all you really need is products that are relatively new and are likely to have some sort of demand, that way you'll have a better chance of getting to page one on Google for the relevant keyword phrase which in turn will give you highly targeted traffic and of course sales The two key areas are keyword research and writing decent product articles. This will take up a fair bit of your time, but is absolutely necessary or you probably won't get your Amazon affiliate business off the ground.
