Hi guys, I currently add link backs to Amazon through my blogs. I see I make 4% until 7 items are ordered then my kick back goes up a few percentage points. I was wondering if most of you (people who have 100+ items ordered monthly) do it? Do you have dedicated store-like sites? Review sites? Etc. I am tired of nickle and diming Amazon, I want to go in the right direction. Thanks.
Pick a topic.... research how often it is searched for.... analyze the competition for that keyword, then find a keyword that gets a lot of searches and has low competition, and they'll a site around that. Find products that match that keyword plug them in and decent basic SEO & link building and you should start seeing a lot of traffic come in which will then buy products that they're searching for something related to your site
Building a niche surrounded store is key, but I would also recommend having a few of them in different niches. Unless the traffic your driving to that single website is on a massive scale and laser beam targeted, one store wont be making that much.
@Omar, good points, multiple sites in targeted niches is a smart idea. Additionally, I scrap the whole "Astore" philosophy and integrate customized widgets into individual posts and pages.
Yah, and ever spread yourself out into other revenue streams.... But if you can get your site to be #1 for a keyword that is searched for 50000x/month, being #1 in Google for that word, you'll get around 20,000 visitors per month, for free. Even if only 1% buy only 1 item, that's 200 orders a month... on Amazon, people usually buy multiple items, and if you can get a better conversion rate than 1%, you'll have even way more orders every month. And yes, it's possible.....
The key is to give value to your customers. The advice on keywords and a niche is great, but do make sure your site offers good advice and content. This will help your SEO, reputation, repeat customers and most importantly... sales!
