Starting from the base level 4% at the start of the month is the recalculation.

every month it resets. you have got to move a ton of product and people have to buy right now to make money.

how do you think Amazon got so large? Not by paying people.

Essentially what happens is a person is introduced to Amazon. Then they take a while to buy and go Direct to Amazon because they recognize the brand and not your site.

And if they go buy from your site they will have to give a valid email address. Once Amazon has that address it's GAME OVER.

Amazon will email the hell out of them. I get several emails a day. It's actually quite annoying. I hope it slows down after Christmas to a dozen or so per month.

I dont' want to kill the email account I used.

In short: Amazon has an affiliate progam because it makes them buckets of money and they have to seldom pay anyone for the free exposure.

So if you are doing Amazon you had better create your own Brand Identity so people will come to you to buy and not go direct. And you had better encourage them to buy right now!

I know CPA is good, but if you make one good sale on Amazon, you could be looking at anything between $50 to $100 in referrals just for one sale. I make decent income on Amazon, so I would encourage you to try it out.

but still you cant hide the fact that they buy from amazon, so in the end they will go and buy there directly.

That's precisely what will happen when people neglect the business aspect of affiliate marketing.

You're still competing with Amazon. If you're not producing original and useful content, different from Amazon, there's no reason why people would prefer surfing your site.

I actually have referrals from Amazon. Yes, people who actually came to my site from Amazon.
I review stuff there and people are always interested to see other stuff I review on my blog, rather than on Amazon, because I offer more stuff on my blog.

Not all Amazons are the same either. The UK one for example has different rates and caps to the US Amazon.
