Amazon 1099-MISC

Has any one got there 1099-MISC yet?

 

Not yet..... i've only received 1 of about 15 or so 1099 forms I am expecting come to think of it.....

 

Mine came in today.

Here's a story about making less than $200 from Amazon in 2009, yet getting 17 separate 1099 forms totaling almost $1,000,000.

Anyone else getting an IRS audit courtesy of Amazon?

 

My 1099 came this week. It was the last of several to arrive.

 

I got 15 of them two days ago. They come from Arkansas zip code 75244 & a 35.7 cent bulk first class postage metered stamp. The meter number is #6954664. I reported it to the USPS case # CA101384159.

I only opened one of them. It says I was paid $330,288.36 Royalties + $114,7439.53 in non employee compensation with $34,755.83 withheld for tax.

I don't know if the idiots who are doing this spoof are sending them to the IRS as well. If they are then there are several felonies involved for each piece of mail involved. If everybody reports them to the USPS perhaps the IRS will realize the problem and take action against the spoofers and not go chasing us.

However the IRS people just don't care. They get paid for chasing us. The bigger the scam/spoof the more work involved for the IRS. Perhaps it's the IRS, themselves, doing the spoof to make work for themselves.
