I just read somewhere that by 2014, US affiliate marketing spending will reach $4 billion and within the next five years retailers, financial services firms, and online education providers will be the top three spenders in the affiliate marketing arena. Which business would you choose from the top three business listed above ? Any kind of suggestions on this topic would be very appreciated.
I would choose online education providers as I myself was educated abroad during my uni days. The traditional marketing of education providers are face-to-face consultation. Now with the Internet technology one can simply use any banners or text links to promote certain uni or courses.
"I just read somewhere that by 2014, US affiliate marketing spending will reach $4 billion" NOTE: That's not the total industry, or total sales made in the affiliate channel, or commissions earned. That's just the network and marketing spend by merchants. Wish I knew the total sales number. You might have read it at the Forrester Blog or one of the other blogs that reported on it. Here is the original story: http://blogs.forrester.com/ebusiness_strategy/2009/09/affiliate-marketing-still-growing-.html Marketing Pilgrim shows some good charts that illustrate the growth. http://www.marketingpilgrim.com/200...marketing-via-social-networks-craptastic.html
5star - Thanks for posting the link. Very interesting. My guess is that it'll be higher actually but that's just a hunch the way the world is becoming less dependent on going to the store and shopping online.
You are welcome. I figured folks would want to hear more of the story and get the other details in the report too.
