Amazing Google results

    First off, this is not a 'why does my site rank...' post, just some interesting Google observations.

    1) Last week on Regis and Kelly they had world record week. Suresh Joachim set a record on the show for watching TV the longest. From Friday - Sunday I got an insane amount of traffic as I ranked #3 on Google for his name. Today I'm in the mid 30's as all these 'authorative news sites' posted the news of his record and bumped me down.

    2) I promoted a page through the Coop and it went from #15 to #3 in the last 5 days. Amazing, my weight is only 700 and I only used half for that page.

    Just sharing some observations.

    Is this only for bulletin boards and blogs? Regular websites cannot be promoted?
