If you mean being politically active, and individually taking responsibility for the defense of the Constitution and the Republic, then yeah. Turn off your TV, cancel your trip to the mall, educate yourself, and become active in being an American. Sitting on the sofa, isn't patriotic.
Nor is tearing down one's country day in and day out, blaming one's country for everything wrong in the world and making up things to blame one's country with. But some people do just that.
