Amazing Baidu results :)

Turns out most of my major keywords are on the first page, many at no.1 or 2 in baidu! I'm guessing that the chinese search VERY differently though as I have single figure traffic from it this month!

If only it was one of the top 3 search engines :D

    the one in my sig

Im guessing though, looking at the results it brings back it is no where near as advanced as the big 3 SE's we are used to

I didn't intend on doing well in baidu, it just kinda happened! I guess I was just lucky! Not bad for not knowing a word of Chinese, or having no Chinese content!

Sorry I can't be of more help but I have no idea how it happened!

I think a few IBLs and some patience should do it.

Baidu absolutely loves my spammy site -- probably because it's so generic -- though I haven't gotten any hits on any of the (non-spammy) others.

Inbound links. Basically just place a link to your site someplace where the Baidu crawler will find it (like a forum or website that already receives a lot of traffic.) Baidu is really aggressive with spidering.

I was checking a new site I just launched a few days ago and baidu was spidering the hell out of it. This site is very very very large for a real estate site and it looked from my logs as if baidu hit every single page. I am not sure why cause I have no Chinese content on it. As for BLs lol I dont have many, any I do have were only acquired like 3 days ago.

What are those "major keywords"? How competitive are they on Google/Yahoo/Live?

Is Baidu only in chinese (mandarin)? what would be the point unless you translate your content into that language.

i think baidu try to become an international search engine. if not, why it cares english site? lot's of chance to fool baidu's english engine.
