I guess the Bush administration is right about this guy: he's nuts--for wanting to come to the US in the first place that is. Of course he could just be crazy like a fox and knowing that he may well have been labeled as an enemy combattant and sent to Gitmo, he used the visa issue as an excuse not to come and at the same time blame the US for fouling things up. http://news.scotsman.com/latest_international.cfm?id=455032007
Amadinejad must think that his own people are complete morons if he expects them to buy this lame excuse. This is on the same intellectual level as "the dog ate my homework." How does the Iranian government expect to beat us on the battlefield, when their top government guys are too stupid to be able to fill out paperwork properly?
The US gave him the Visa's....I think it was all a publicity stunt, and with the seizure of the British Navymen he knows he shouldn't leave the country.....however, all he wants to do is go and spout nonsense anyway.
Gitmo's new arrival--Bush's dream. I put this in my caption thread, but I thought it would be a nice fit here
he was probably going to the UN to claim some moral high ground in the nuke spat. But, its hard to have any high ground when you just kidnapped 15 foreign citizens.
The UN Security Council has just voted unanimously to impose further sanctions on Iran - one less bargaining chip he has in negotiations to get our sailors and marines back.
... It is a completely token gesture, you're right. But it takes us one step closer to being able to legally use 'alternative' curtailment methods.
http://corner.nationalreview.com/post/?q=MjYyYTQ3ODcwMDRkNWJlYTFiNWViOWU0OGRhMDQyYWU= National Review says a few interesting things: Bolton was awesome at the UN. Too bad he's not there anymore.
looks like his trip won't be happening with the brit soldier incident...its getting really interesting.
Unless I have missed a story it seems Iran is claiming it took to long to get the Visas so they aren't going to bother, but the US has had them ready in hand? Happened I thought a day or two before this UK thing too... Also Amadinejad being dead would only be good for us if he was assassinated by his own people.
Wouldn't surprise me if someone was afraid to go on a plane, especially if all of the on board crew were from the "Combat Action Group" from a place in N.C.
I should say that his death is only in an extreme circumstance, considering his incredibly low approval, we only need until the next election and he'll be gone from being president. That's the ideal situation, a moderate president there.
