Am understanding this correctly? Adsense Vs Adwords.

Okay so I just submitted to google to get an adsense account... Now this is the option where they let you post ads on your site and possibly earn an income from those ads.

Adwords is the option if say... you would like to advertise and get your advertisements submitted for viewing on adsense....

    is my understanding correct?

    thanks! :)

sorry if this is a noob question, but I am new to all of this web design stuff and still trying to get my feel underneath me!

Wait for approval of your adsense account and then create a blog from blogger.com so that you can embed your ads their easily and if you are interested you can give advertisement for your blog through adwords.

    Yes, you got it right!

There are 3 roles in internet advertisement

    1) Merchants - Advertisers
    2) Publishers - Affiliates
    3) Affiliate brokers

Google is kind of affiliate broker...Publishers join their affiliate program i.e adsense...and Merchants join their advertising program i.e adwords

    Hope it helps:)

It certainly does! thank you for your replies !!! I really appreciate the clarification!!! :)

I might set up a bunch of micro-niche sites, but I have some larger sites Im working with now (no blog yet)... so Im working on trying to figure all of it out for those two sites before I move on to other projects :)

    Thank you again! :)

AdSense - you post other people ads on your web and get money from clicks

AdWords - you put your ads to google and other people's website - then you have to pay whenever someone click on your ads

You got it right! Adwards are for advertisers and Adsense is for publishers.
