Am I Yahoo-Sandboxed?

I have a website, page 1 on Google and MSN for a very common term (152,000+) results on Overture for this term. So it is quite a term, great domain.

Now, howcome I am not on the first 30 pages of Yahoo for it? I am like nowhere to be found, unless I type the exact url of the website on Yahoo, then it shows me.

    What to do?

Keyword density for the keyword phrase that I am trying to optimize for 4.7%.

Not too sure on the inbound links, where can I check?

go to yahoo and type links:yourdomain.com in the search box and hit enter. It will show you all your backlinks.

I'm getting poor performance from yahoo on a new site as well. I'm getting over 600 organic a day from Google and only around 20 from Yahoo.

Submit to their directory and then check whether there is any difference.

    Only 3 backlinks excluding myself.

Directory costs $300, I really don't want to do that. Is there any other way? I am really down in the SERPs for Yahoo.

You rank on google with 3 backlinks? Whats the url?

Build some links from directorys and article websites. Yahoo loves those.

If your Yahoo-Sandboxed then you have acheived the impossible since there is no sandbox. Try authenticating your site with site explorer then you can see how well your site is indexed. You will also want to get lots and lots of inbound links.

Check the directory forum out here on DP. There are a ton of free directories to get backlinks from.

It may not be called "sandbox" at Yahoo, but not one of my 40+ sites had good rankings the first few months...

In my experience it used to take 3 months before the top10 rankings were achieved, but atm am waiting a little more than 4 months. So IMO there is a delay at Yahoo before you get good rankings, whatever you want to call it.

I wouldn't be paying for a Yahoo directory listing hoping it will give you page 1 results, it just won't happen. IMO, you should be content ranking well in both MSN and Google. It's very difficult to rank in all 3 engines.

I call it the typical waiting time for a site to rank in Yahoo. They tend to be slow unless you pay for site submit express.

Really then why does my site not show anything other than the front page? The front page is re-cached regularly buy Yahoo does not index the rest of the site. It is quite annoying as the rank is not as important as getting listed in the first place. We have quite a lot of unique products that will show up organically if only they were indexed in the first place.

Sounds like something to ask Yahoo about. Use site explorer to get a better idea of what pages are getting crawled (if your not using it already).
