Am I the only one who is fed up

Am I the only one who is fed up with dishonest posters who can not simply admit when they are wrong?

Everyone is wrong from time to time, when you are flat out shown to be wrong what's the harm in saying 'hey you know what I was wrong, now I know for the future'. Who benefits from refusing to admit you're wrong, you make yourself look like a joke and do not better yourself.

Some issues of course there is no right or wrong answer. Other things however are plainly black and white when something is right or wrong.

Simply unreal, I'm about to give up on these forums all together 'in P&R' as I'm sick of a few who simply refuse to admit even the tiniest of incorrect posts.

Dude, I know how you feel and I have a pretty good idea about the thick headed bone head that is giving you hell. I for one enjoy your posts and are in agreement with a lot of them as they are honest, truthful, reasonable and factual and are driven by deep and righteous convictions. And on the other hand we have the crazy gang. Don't give up don't cave in!

Bro, the trick is to not take any of it personally. When I find myself engaging in long, quote, answer, quote answer posts, I drop anything mundane, and just make surgical strikes on the topics that I can own.

Brings a smile to my face every time.

It wont ever happen when their ego is in the way. And the fact they can not see past their opinion. Or the fact they play it off like they know all and it is apparent in their post they are not. Especially next to more experienced posters or relevant posts.

Maybe they think since its a forum or what not, that no one will see past their bogus opinions, when other users clearly due. Such a shame isnt it.

So no worries and just ignore when you can.

Grim, in a word, no. As my recent spats over dishonesty attest, this gets up my craw as well. Badly. I know you know this, just wanted to chime in with a big "Yep, it bugs the hell out of me as well." The only cure I know is to step away and laugh at my own idiocy, for believing there is anything substantively useful to batting one's head against this particularly obdurate corner of the universe, at times, when so much else matters so much more. Not the best at it, though, as you know. Strangely addictive thing, DP.

Physician, heal thyself. To say it quite bluntly, guru, your behavior is among the worst of the lot, equal to the behavior you condemn here, now. If you can't see that, I truly feel sorry for you. If you can, shame on you for your sanctimony in attempting to horn in on Grim's valid point.

I've given up with most members of the DP "Crazy Gang" as it is clear for all to see that they are all insane, many of them are clones of each other too which just exaserbates the situation.

As the others have said don't worry about them mate.

I have been here that long that I have each one of them listed with a percentage of their insanity in a nice graph.

No prizes for who gets first place. :D

Grim, it seems like they almost have another agenda up their sleeves. Wish i knew what agenda would make them lie and twist the truth with such passion.

That's my problem, I like to bash and smash :p

I just got trully irritated. I feel at times like I am having a discussion with an 8 year old. Such as telling my son to brush his teeth, he tells me he did, when I know in fact he has not gotten up from his computer yet. :D

I come here for adult conversation, if I wanted to talk to toddlers or very young children I'd talk with my son and or his friends.

I wonder if it is a strategy from the deep right wing? The top of this administration never admits to a mistake. Ever. It is a pretty consistent type of response from those who promote being tougher, more militant than everyone else.

Its absurd to debate folks of this ilk.

I don't think it's limited to any ideology, earl. It comes in all colors, unfortunately. This forum's recent history is testament enough.

I'm not. This does illustrate something I point out from time to time, about taking the route of popularity, then seeking forum support to bolster support. I figure it's a lack of self-esteem!

I don't get fed up with the dishonesty of ron paul supporters. I expect it. Just look at how some treated the recent exposure of racist documents (not old ones, but new discoveries) and see how some just could not admit they were wrong.

Now, to give credit to *some* ron paul supporters (not those here, though), over on the RP forums, quite a few demanded answers and had legitimate questions and wanted to know the truth. As that didn't come forward, and RP left his supporters with many unanswered questions, quite a few of them threw in the towel.

Soliciting forum support from a dozen people who all support the same candidate and would never challenge or question each other, and operate like the Borg collective might seem like a good idea, but will you really feel any better have people that normally give blind allegiance to you, patting you on the ass and saying "atta boy?"

This certainly isn't my rationale at all (I do not support RP, for instance, nor do I post anything out of a sense of "alliance," or anything like that), and I do understand Grim's frustration. I do get tired of the intellectual dishonesty. I get tired refuting sheer crap, and dealing, more and more, it seems, with, in my instance, batting the gnat posting such crap away over getting down to the heart of an honest, substantive debate.

Leave it to Gtech to change everything into his 'Anti RP mantra'

Gtech you have been owned time and time again on 'popularity' contest, yet you still spew the same crap.

It was not popular when I was anti war, when you and your 'popular' gang tried to rule this forum. I have debated many topics when I was alone on my stance, that sure is not 'popular'

I question RP supporters, that surely is not 'popular' ohyeah but you NEVER question anyone who is normally on your side.

    Seriously Gtech, you need help.

You! Out of all people should know much better about that. Isn't it you who has to systematically make false claims, spread lies, promote half-truths just to get a reaction and attention? And you talk about low self-esteem. Hah!

If you ask my wife and those who know me, if there is one thing I am not short on it's 'self esteem' :D

BTW how does a 'narcissist' have 'low self esteem' and have it 'both ways' while always going with the 'popular side'

I mean come on give me a break! That is simply hilarious!

A narcissist needs a high self esteem. If his self esteem gets low, he will solicit others to raise his self esteem for him.

It's not having it both ways at all. It's having both. One feeds the other, and without a constant bolstering of the self-esteem, a narcissist feels empty.

Kind makes sense now, huh? ;)

That's right Gtech, you know more about someone else than they know about themselves. I think the reason you bring up narcissism so much is because you were once treated for the condition ;)

I am not anti Jew, I do not get involved in every single thread or post going, neither do YOU. You even passes to anyone who is usually on your side, I however do debate RP members when I have knowledge on a subject.

I do not have problems with jews, not one bit. It however is not an area I am very knowledgeable in, hence I stay out of it in most cases! It is not because I agree or disagree, I do not blindly jump into a topic I have no to limited knowledge of!

You know this because you've been in treatment haven't you?

A narcissist thinks he's right and does not need anyone to tell him that.

I do not have low self esteem Gtech, where you get that from is beyond me.

So one can argue both ends as you claim, but always have the popular side. Gtech you make absolutely no sense at all, seriously give it up.
