About 6 months ago (Just after the Oct. PR update) I sold 3 sitewide links on my site guaranteeing 3 months or til the next PR update. They have been up since. Some of my inner pages have been updated when the Google mess started, but others haven't. I received a nice offer for a sitewide link, but have no more spots available. My question is: have I fulfilled my obligation or should the links stay up?
Thanks, Was it a PR update or not though, that is the question. SEOCompany has the update listed as Feb. 18th. I'd just like some more opinions. Thanks, Roman 2006 Feb 18 TBPR & BL Export: Toolbar Pagerank & BackLink Export.
I would contact the person, tell the person that it has been 6 months and the PR update from Google occurred. It was not exactly as expected, which is why you gave them extra time beyond the three months. Then ask them if they want to renew.
The links were cheap just to fill spots till the updates and I would not wish to resell them at that price. 2 people voted to keep them up. Could you please post why. I'd like to see both sides of the fence.
I think you went above and beyond now. There's certaintly no ill intent on you're part. There WAS a pagerank update, although it didn't go as it should... it was in fact an update as new info was exported. I voted that you should remove the links.
Thanks. Any pages I had up with a PR0 before the so called update got PR, one page even made PR5. Any pages that had PR before kept the same PR they had. I was being patient, but I got a nice little offer for one of the links I'd hate to pass up and if I pull one of the links I'd have to puul all 3.
I voted to take the links down--you fulfill your obligation--send them an email to renew the links at the new price you specific...you get the drift?
There's one problem. The offer I got through my site is a lot higher than what I'd ask. Let's say it's $1000.00/year. (It's not, but just to make a point) Let's say I offer them renewal at $150.00 a year (something I find reasonable) and they all took it, then again I can't ask for $1000.00 so they all pass and then sell the 2 extra links here way cheaper. Obviously I am motivated by money so my opion is skewed, thus I'm asking the collective wisdom of this forum
I voted yes, even though you already sent out the emails you clearly said either x or y. If x is true the y part is skipped
I don't understand. 3 months is up so the issue was whether a PR update occured. It seems that a PR update has occurred so both terms were fulfilled. No?
To me that sounds like you were keeping them FOR 3 MONTHS , OR , until the next PR update (meaning either event ends the term).... If it was keeping them for at least 3 months AND until a PR update... that's different.... I think that's where people's confusion is coming from
The deal was that they'd stay up till the PR update, but I guarenteed 3 months if the update happened early (slim chance at best). Since 3 months are long gone the only issue is the PR update.
