I found a keyword with low competition and just 1 strong website at the top rank in Google. I checked the strong site with a link checker tool and i noticed there were only two links to it. I check the 2nd site and noticed no link to it.I then wrote an article and used bookmarking sites (delicious and reddit) and other blogs to add links to my webpage. After a week, i checked Google to see if my site is on the the first page, but noway! I then used the link checker tool to check if my links reflected but i noticed none of them reflected.
    Am i dong something wrong?

was the strong website the main url or a subpage. If it is a subpage check the links to the main url.

The link from Hubpages is probably a nofollow link and the 2 links from reditt and delicious are nothing special. PLus it could take a month for those links to be crawled.

Not to mention your "webpage" might not be optimized. Build some dofollow links with anchor text.

Whats the webpage you built so we can take a look?
