Okay I am the owner of the company and have done all of the seo myself.... Well not only myself with help from a lot of you folks posting here. Well I need a little help... Our site has been listed in google and done very well. We serve several different market segments for industrial knives and have setup sub pages accordingly. They had all been doing well for our keywords and the keywords were not very competative. Anyway about 2 or 3 months ago we dropped out completely, I guess. I waited to see if we came back and it just got worse. Anyway we are no where to be found. As an example http://www.tskgrinding.com/shear_blades.asp and kw of shear blades was in the top 5 for a long time and had a pr of 3/10. The page rank now is 2/10 and we are not in the 9,999. Anyway any direction you folks could point me in would be great. Oh and thanks for the help before.
AFAIK, You are lacking good links: http://66.102.9.104/search?hl=en&lr=&q=link:www.tskgrinding.com&btnG=Search
The sponsered link is what I am trying to get away from. On links I have bought links from some of the folks that post here...... maybe not relevant but links. Also have submitted to a lot of directories that seemed to show up before. If you check msn back links you can see what I mean. Also one of our competiors has a very similiar situation, pr, backlinks and all and they are and have been listed high, like us before the change. "http://www.allianceknife.com/Products/Shear_Blades/shear_blades.html" kw shear blades
Google values links from related sites more than directory links. You need to get links from other sites that are related to yours. Try to get links with other sites that are ranking in the top 10 and down. Google is much more picky about backlinks than MSN.
It would seem that once you have a sponsored link, you are not going to show up further down the list. But I'm just guessing.
Well I have had a ppc with google since the beginning, around 26 months. and during that time we went to #1 and hald in the top 5 until a few months ago. I am aware of the links but why did I go to the top 5 for 12 months and then get dropped out totally? And as I posted a competitor has basically the same pr and number of links and they are still in the top 5. alliance knife. Am I missing something somewhere?
There have been major changes to the google algorithm and a lot of people have experienced the same. Links from relevant sites are much more important, so it is possible that while the PR is the same, google likes the links of one site better. On page factors can also be the reason. There are over-optimization penalties, keyword density, etc that all factor in. The first thing I would do is compare the type of links between the two sites to see if the site ranking well has a higher percentage of links from more relevant sites.
