    Keywords:
apply for a credit card 4th page
    credit card offers 6th page

We have never been in the top 100 for these keys that we have been optimizing for then all the sudden today we are on the 4th page.....Could we be out of the sandbox...if so how should I approach this? keep building article and directory links?

Just keep on doing what you have been doing. If you are moving up it means that you are right on track ;-)
