After reading so much about Google Adwords it's making my eyes water, I'd like to know if you think I'm on the right track or any advice you may have to offer. My small business sells engraved glassware in 4 categories. Wedding, Corporate, Promotional and Birthday. If I were to set up 1 Campaign with 4 Adgroups with these headings and use Keywords like "Wedding wine glass" for the Wedding Adgroup, "Corporate wine glass" for Corporate Adgroup etc.... then create ads with the Adgroup word in the ad Headline, would that be the most efficient way to start? I currently have 1 Campaign with about 100 keywords all under the same Adgroup which I set up without really researching.
what you describe seems like the right way to go. yet keep in mind - any way - is a good way to start. once you start things in motion, tweaking and maintenance are likely to never end. statistics are gathered, new techniques are learned, so over all - any starting point is good. there are many advantages in doing things the way you describe - small adgroups with targeted words and ads. there are also advantages in doing things "the wrong" way, like earning a lot of statistics about the market. just start, try anything at first.
i think you are in this track at very first time... and for the starting purpose you are on the right way... so try it......
your on the right track to start, once you get started - don't be afraid to test and try new things..
Thanks for the replies! I'm happy to hear I'm heading in the right direction. There is so much to learn but I am eager to set aside time each day to tweak and see what works and what doesn't.
