Am I missing something?

    Hey guys,

I think something is off.. there is a domain I want to register so I checked it and it said it was taken so I did a whois and look what came up.

    Domain Registration Date: Thu Apr 18 19:39:37 GMT+00:00 2002
    Domain Expiration Date: Tue Apr 17 23:59:59 GMT+00:00 2007
Domain Last Updated Date: Thu Apr 18 19:39:46 GMT+00:00 2002

Now correct me if i'm wrong but april has passed... right? And this is the year 2007? It just doesn't make sense.. I don't know if i'm missing anything or what? It's like that at every whois I checked on multiple sites. It also said the site is inactive.

Anybody care to clear this up for me?

    Thanks :p

Domains does not drop as soon as they expire there is redemption period and deleting periods , the owner can renew it , the registrar can give them to a snapping service on these periods.

Yea I know they don't drop just like that but I didn't know they could get over a month a two to decide what they wanna do with it. It just seems odd?

As I said before it's the same in all of them but thanks anyway.
