Am I lucky, or has my SEO worked?

I don't want to release what keywords I have positioned well for because I don't want to let anyone know about my website until it launches. But I recently made a website and I have done quite a bit of on-site SEO, and bought a good keyword domain, there is no proper content on there yet - but despite this I have positioned really high for a competitive keyword.

The website is pretty knew so at first I thought it was simply Google's usual protocol, but the SERP ranking has stayed strong for weeks now.

Do you think my SEO has generally worked. I have a good domain containing the keywords, done lots of SEO on-site, but I never imagined raking so high in the SERP's without '1' backlink or any content...weird or what?

What do you mean who cares? I care, that's why I made this thread. I want to know whether I have done something right that's all. And I am planning to put content up before I launch. If you haven't got anything constructive to say, don't say anything at all.

I'm in a similiar situation, but I have a little content. I had done a fair bit of seo work and ranked 10th on google (bottom of 1st page) out of 2.3 million.

I'm betting your seo has worked, and it certainly helps having the keyword in your domain

Unless you share what you exactly did, isnt it too hard for us to comment.

I did SEO, I did marketing is not enuff for us to tell what you did right.

    I hope you understand?

But overall great one if u made it top for a competitive keyword.

I have acheived #4 on the first page of about 675,000 on Google.com for a really competitive keyword (not the world's most competitive) and it is 100% related to my niche. So I should not get many bounces through my site if they come in through the SERP's.

I really do hope it is my SEO, because once my content does get up on there, it should boost me higher. But the reason I asked is because I don't want to launch and then 1 week later end up in the sandbox :p.

Thanks for your comments guys, I would give reputation but I have given too much out today.

Sorry, but I really don't want anyone to view the website until it has launched.
