Am I getting scammed by clickbank or someone else??

Fairly new to affiliate marketing, but did a LOT of reading and research last year and have spent hours on this site for help (thanks for all the good stuff).

I built a small blog to test the business in Nov/08 and by the end of Dec I had about 5 sales on mainly "Bum" marketing/articles etc.. This took about 100 hops.

Since Jan 1st I've had over 290 hops and started PPC with Google, with 0 sales??

I've read alot on here about the economy, trends, etc.. but it worries me that it's possible I'm just not getting credit for any sales?
I did add tracking codes to my links in Jan, but they are not cloaked. Could the tracking code be screwing up any transactions for me? or could someone be taking my sales?

Any advise would be appreciated.. thanks !

You should cloak your affiliate link, you might also try other niches and products..

It could be a variety of factors,

How targeted your traffic is, how good the landing page is, how well the product you're promoting converts, economy, clickbank issue.

It is a fact that many of us do well with clickbank and make a nice earning. I would suggest you to do some more reading and get more familiar with affiliate marketing, and start working.

Unfortunately there is no way to know exactly what is happening. I don't think clickbank would scam you, they are too big for that. With the kind of volume they have, it is poor business strategy to hide sales and invite all kind of bad press and possible law suits to such a successful business.

290 hops with no sales is not enough to make any conclusions IMO. Some products I promote will do 500 hops to a sale, but I promote because the traffic is free and really easy to get.

Sometimes that happens if you are promoting a product that just doesn't convert, or you are sending traffic that isn't that targeted. I would also try to hide your affiliate links so people cannot tell its an affiliate link.

    Regards,
    Chris
