Does co-op means that you link from let's say http://www.ownsite.nl/lawyers.html to http://www.anothersite.nl/lawyers.html or am i missing something? I did do a manually link-exchange with sites that have the same subject, but that can't be wrong or does it?
No nothing. No Coop or link exchange programm But I have done some SEO work. (link building) 10 new links added the last week
I do not use any link exchange program, from advertisement networks use only adsense and all pages are same as 3 years a go when i come for the first time inside first 10. I mean it is bizar because PR is same 5, site is not banned and does not come by the first 200-300 by any most common words where i was till today by the first 10. btw I have 301 redirect from non-www to www for a year now.Is it maybe problem?
I wasn't connecting the penalty to the co-op until my sites were hit. Others are having the problem with all of their pages, so maybe your case is different.
You can find the URLs from my signature - www.paikalliset.info & espoo.paikalliset.info. Both are business directories from two different city. What is a co-op? I don't believe I do such a thing.
I had that problem with one of my sites. Google dumped the entire site into supplemental results, even though the main portion of the site contains 50+ pages of absolutely unique content. I think that an Amazon bookstore in a subdirectory got me in trouble. I removed the Amazon store and filed a reinclusion request. Most of the site came out of Supplemental Results abut two weeks later and my traffic returned. It could have just been an algorithm correction. There are still a few content pages in Supplemental and a few hundred pages (out of about 4000) left in the index from the book store.
Well, Jude, your site is a directory, so you are linking to several sites and maybe some of them are considered 'bad neighborhood' and you were penalized. Did you realize your sites are not listed in the first position if you search for your domain without the .info? http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&safe=off&q=espoo.paikalliset&btnG=Search http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=mozclient&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&q=paikalliset This is consistent with the symptoms we are seeing for sites using the co-op: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=98931
I tried with SEO Tools Google Datacenter Tool and majority of them showed my main site in 1st place, but there was few where it was on 12th place. The subdomain was found allways from 3rd place. Could this be the reason: I have made a dynamic link from every search page to the subdomain. Could it be that Google thinks that this is somekind of coop network. (If I have understood it correct, this coop-thing is somekind of link exchange network).
After I started this thread I have noticed that many of us are asking same questions and many of sites are treated the same way as mine was. Yes, I said was, because after four weeks of waiting it looks like my SERP's came back and the traffic is normal again. I don't know what happened, but it looks that we just have to live with it. It's just sad that many of us are just so dependent of Google's results.
As Jude said, lots people reporting about traffic recovery after four weeks of waiting - Jul 27 (http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=114750 ), but I have not see any changes for my ste's anyway. Is there any people like me with no changes from the Jun 27?
So, you think, all the people reporting traffic recovery has duplicate content issues fixed on their sites?
Yes, there are. I have one site which was hit on June 27 and had no improvements on July 27. There are a few other people reporting the same thing over at WMW. Most people saw an improvement on July 27, but not all. It certainly isn't a duplicate content issue as I know of several sites hit on June 27 which were fairly small sites and had no duplicate content.
