Hello Guys, My ads are showing on crap pages and I want to know if I get charged for clicks that come from those pages? I don't want my ads on those pages to begin with. In my account I have selected the (Google Search) and (Search Network) which only has big sites listed like (Earthlink, Aol, AT&T) etc. I dont even have the (Content Network) selected so how are my ads showing on all these crap sites that are making money from this ! I just want to know if I am getting charged for clicks coming from there ! If anybody know, please let me know. Thanks, Charlee
It would help if you said what you considered "crap pages" because it's not a recognized technical term, but it'll be from the search network. Parked domain pages, for example, can be included there.
I do not see how your ads can be shown on sites as if you have only search enabled then your ads will only appear as a result of someone typing in a keyword from your keyword list and the ad will be shown either on the right of the search results page or right at the top if you are #1,2 or3.
I would consider any sites that aren't your target audience crap pages. You migh get a click, but so what you only lost money on it.
I am a bit confused. So in other words, someone can show my adwords ads on thier pages and click on them and I would get charged for them, but I have no control over that ! Am I correct? Becuase if I selected to show my ads in only google search pages, then I dont know how the ads are showing on pages that have no content except adsense ads or on completely unrealted sites.
Search network doesn't only include major partners like AOL and Earthlink, but includes domain parking pages & smaller "search" partners as well. Traffic can be good or bad from these sources, it all depends on your campaign/product. If you're worried about showing up on parking pages, then disable the Google Search Network & just show the ads on Google.
Even if you've elected for the content network, the first scenario shouldn't happen - Google do take that kind of click-fraud seriously, and if you look at the adsense forum you'll see loads of posts of former adsensers boo-hooing because they've had their account closed for doing that. Doesn't mean it doesn't happen, though, obviously.
