Am I filtering good sites? (Not likely....)

I have a CTR of .55, a eCPM of about .40 a day and the site is earning around $9 a day on the dot. Sometimes it's very random...one week it'll earn 6.5 a day and some days (same stats) I'll get 14. The traffic is a high volume site with 5,000+ unique visits a day.

I'm not sure if this is normal or not or if I'm being jipped..I can't say. Adsense seems to be tracking 95% of my impressions and the only thing their saying is that I could be filtering good-paying sites. I was just wondering what you guys thought about this situation and my competitive ad list.

I banned most of these sites myself for giving my weird and abstract ads.

    Ads like...

    "Are you Gay?"

    "Are you Stupid?"

And MFA sites taking up my top spots.

    What I do is this:

    1. Get a list from adsblacklist.com of standard MFAs.

    2. Run each MFA individually through Alexa.com to see if their even on the map anymore. If they aren't ranking above 1,000,000, they can probably be left off your Competitive Ad Filter list.

    3. Use the Google Adsense Preview Tool to look at the other ads on your page. If they're MFA, or in your opinion, or not worth a crap, add them to the Ad Filter too.
