Greetings: I am helping a client get better page ranking/exposure by doing the following: My client is sternpinball.com Here is my plan of action: 1. Keyword analysis - to find out the most popular search terms with 'pinball' 2. Do searches on those search terms and find out what sites are coming up 3. Analyze the top sites and figure out what is getting them there. That is the content, links etc etc 4. Stern Pinball has close to 150 distributors / operators / repair shops that are linked from Stern website. We will ask them (distributors/operators/repair shops) to link their sites back to sternpinball.com 5. Add content / articles etc regularly - so that search bots will see the site as fresh and not stale. 6. I put them on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/sternpinballinc Will be setting up on facebook, twitter and other popular social networks 7. Blogging - find a blogger who is already out there doing pinball related stuff and retain him to blog for Stern Pinball 8. Look into getting pay per click, sponsored links etc from google and other major search engines. The fact that Stern is the only arcade pinball manufacturer in the world should help them since the competition will be lesser. I hope I have covered most of the process. I am willing to pay for someone who would guide me through things that I do not know. Thanks Shaw
My 0.01$ tip is, open a blog for sternpinball and submit your articles in there. It is easier to get traffic with blogs than regular sites. After you can redirect your traffic. Good luck
It concerns me that you have managed to seal a contract with a company and you are asking for help. I understand that everyone has to start somewhere but honestly what do you think you client would do if he was too see your post here. There are plenty of unethical people around here that wouldnt think twice about showing this to ???pinball.com and then trying to lure them to a contract with them. My best advise to you is get rid of the URL's from this post and hope that no one has already ratted on you. P.s seems like you are not doing a bad job, just refine your own style on how you do things, although SEO is pretty generic people find their own methods for doing certain things. Either that or nice link bate
Thanks Triphp No it is not a link bait ;-) Stern has been my client for 20 years. They trust me. I told them that I am not a SEO expert but I could do some or most of the work economically and then will get in specialized consultants to guide/finish the rest. Stern tried getting some SEO bids and they don't have the budget to go with specialized companies and hence this route. I would like to leave the link in there so that someone looking at this post can gauge what needs to be done to the website and give some advise.
Thats fair enough and good for you, i know a couple of large companies that have done the same and actually employed their IT guy to learn while on the job .
kmjamal, >>> get the links for different pages and you will see the increase in traffic. ?? can you pls elaborate Thanks!
He means Build related links not only you home page but to your internal pages too for their respective anchor text .
You are in the good start in SEO. After you finish all the things that you have mentioned the next thing to do is off-page optimization and build backlinks.
thanks manny07 can you point me towards a good read on how to do off-page optimization and build backlinks
Well, the answer could be mentioned according to your actual goals. For example, if the site is relatively a new one and needs traffic quickly, nothing might replace the powerful results to be gained via PPC programs like AdWords. For longer term solutions, link building and using traffic generating methods like article submitting and using the social bookmarking sites could all be counted on as workable materials.
