Am I doing right in using AdWords for my website in other languages?

Most of the clients of the service that my business provides come from Italy and France (although I'm based in the UK and my site is in English), so I need to rank on the first page of Google search for some specific keywords in French and Italian. I'm already translating the entire website into those languages and I was thinking that in order to have instant results in Google.fr and Google.de, to use PPC (or AdWords in this case). That way I would quickly show on the Google searches and increase traffic on the websites, while working in creating links in French and German websites.

    Am I doing right?

You could try creating subdomains, i.e. if your site is www.yourdomain.com, you could create subdomains such as french.yourdomain.com and italian.yourdomain.com and have the different subdomains in different languages
