I'd like to know if you guys think my website's doing well so far? I started it back in late February or maybe early March 2007. Right now I have a google page rank of 3, Alexa rank of 219, 667 , total amount of unique visitors is around 90, 000, and i'm receiving a steady rate of 300-500 unique visitors on most days. So, how well am I doing so far? Horrible, bad, good, great, fantastic.....what? This is my first website and i'd really like an honest opinion. My marketing skills aren't that developed yet, so if anyone says that it isn't good and thinks I should be further along by now, please give advice to me. Google Page Rank: 3 Alexa Rank: 219, 667 Total amount of unique visitors: 90, 000 (blogflux only says 80, 000, but I signed up late, it's really around 90, 000) Usual unique hits each day: 300 - 500 By the way, my website is SonyProtectionGroup.com
Thanks. I was only getting about 10 cents a day (), but after I progressed a little and added that huge square ad space, it brought me up to a minimum of 1.50 a day. It's small I guess, but to me its great revenue and I can only go higher. Well, since we're on the subject, is 1.50 good Google revenue after hearing my sites details? The site is still in its infancy keep in mind
Those are great stats for starting out! Keep learning and applying your knowledge...my first site has been online for almost 2 years, and we are getting close to 1,200 people a day, with a PR of 4, and if you keep your site rolling, you are bound to make my stats look small.
wow.. impressive.. i think until now, i still haven achieve this steady flow of traffic although I had earn $$ online. good job.
I guess I take a different angle. While your numbers sound impressive, and others have already said that, how are you doing with conversions to paying customers? For me, that is how well a website is doing. I've know websites with low numbers of visitors, but it had high conversions; I've known websites with high numbers, but it had low conversions. Page Rank, Alexa, and uniques are nice, but it is conversions that determine how well your website is doing. Or, am I in the minority on this? Jim
The few problems I see are 90,000 hits since march and only 219,000 on alexa. I am ranked 348,000 on open road biker dot net and I have only had a total of 1700 hits since around the same time. You may be getting a lot of spider traffic. I am not sure what you are using to show unique visitors but somehow I don't think it is giving you an accurate picture. My 4 sites that have had less than 40,000 hits total since December earn about 25 cents a day, maybe 50 cents. You may need to focus your site more and work on blending your adds. Since I blended my adds and put a link bar at the top near the title I seem to get a small steady stream of clicks proportionate to my traffic.
Can you please explain what you're talking about by conversions? Sorry, i'm very new to all of that Well, the main thing that made me reach 90, 000 unique hits so fast is from user spikes coming from my website being featured at the top page of digg.com, n4g like 10 x +, computerandvideogames.com, gizmodo, ps3fanboy, joystiq, kotaku, destructoid, etc. My site appeared on those websites multiple times and that's why the 90, 000 is an accurate number. Like I said though, i'm receiving a rate of 300 to 500 unique visitors most of the time and then there are the days where I wind up getting linked to by major websites. Right now i'm only going off blogflux statistics, until I install something like statcounter, but blogflux seems to be very accurate for me. Thanks for that idea/suggestion for the ads. I'll try to do that.
How many of your visitors are becoming customers....spending money? What is your ratio of uniques to customers? Jim
I agree. The numbers do not shows the exact success. I have a site which I've started in december 2006. I only have 200 unique visitors per day. But when I check alexa today it shows its in 60th position on the top hundred sites of nepal. When I checked for another more popular website which have more than ten thousand unique hits per day, I was shocked. The site was in 79th position. I just do not belive in the numbers.
Hey,you have done a good job And you website looked very cool. But except ads,it's not easy to market.
Hey,that seems really good for a relatively new site. May i suggest a few things you could maybe change on your site which may give you better figures. The site itself is excellent, but I feel the main page does not give the straight away content that I like to see when I go to a blog. If I was you I would remove the flash sony protection group scroll bar box, and bring the main content up to the top. This would allow someone just entering the site to see the latest news, whats popular and the newest article. I would also increase the width of the top area, so the entire page aligns vertically, and rounding of the edges of the main blog content corners would make it look excellent in my opinion. Great job though, keep up the good work
Narutoboy, what about your revenue? If it is as high as your traffic is, then you are doing great job!
