Hello Guys, this is my third day here on DP. I have read a lot of threads. Thanx for all the good tips. I think i made the common mistake to click just a few times on my own ads to see what the ads are. (Ok, maybe also to catch a few cents, i tought they never would detect 2 clicks or so) . Today i got this mail: It has come to our attention that invalid clicks have been generated on the Google ads on your site(s). In the future, we may adjust your payment for any days during which invalid clicks occurred in order to properly credit advertisers for any invalid activity......... Am i already Banned or is it just a warning ? I still can logon to my account and ads still showing up on my site. Thanx in advance for the little help. Dommike67
Chances are you have not been banned yet. Google is giving you a 2nd chance. Don't mess up this time.
You aren't banned as of yet, but it is a warning that you could get banned if the "activity" which G does not like continues.
First and foremost. You are the worst example of those who do that click-and-cry. Nevertheless, I appreciate your honesty. You should be glad that they haven't really banned you upfront. There is no mentioning of "suspension" in the email. Now verify it if you can still access your adsense account & never ever click your own ads in the future.
Thanx for the fast reply. It's sure that i will never again click on my on ads. But i feel like "Big Brother is watching you." Dommike67
BIG Brother always watches you. and there are times when even you do not know that BB is watching you Do not too anything wrong, and you will be fine. Honesty is the best policy... But why the hell did you click on your own ads if it is against TOS
Ok the famous TOS, as i read in other posts who reads those TOS (They are blablalba). It's like speeding, you are not supposed to do it, but .... Also I thought when they talk about click fraud they think of houndreds and thousands of clicks. I never thought that G can detect 2 clicks from my own computer. I made some Adwords campaigns too and i get a lot of (1 visitor/1 Hit) visits and i am paying for those too. Maybe those visiters trigger it, who knows...
Invalid clicks are a serious offence, as they ruin hard earned money of advertisers. If you logged in to adsense from the very comp you made clicks, then it would be easy for em to track you. They can figure out invalid clicks, even if they are made from the extra terrestrial system
Your visitors are not using your ip# or ip range. No one in my home is allowed to visit the sites I own. I know I am not going to "accidentally" click on one of my ads, but they might. It would be rather silly for Google to make a rule they could not enforce. Yet so many people have to learn that the hard way. Consider yourself lucky and best wishes.
Be very carefull, you must not click on your own ads ... there are tools to see how ads look after you click on them without breaking TOS
I strongly recommend you go read that "blablabla". It's the only thing standing between you and a ban. Honest . . . it really is important. Good luck.
Actually it's more like a contractual agreement (terms)... You can learn about agreement terms the hard way by signing up for some free DVD's at Disney Movie Club... Terms & Conditions are very important and very powerful... and in the case of AdSense, YOU AGREED TO THEM. What if you have agreed to getting liposuction without anesthesia!
Big Brother? Google run a business, every business is in the game to make money, if you are clicking your own ads you are fraudulently charging advertisers for clicks that are of no benefit to them. Quite frankly with your attitude I wish you had been banned.
You are lucky few who got this email, most of the guys just gets banned rightaway. Now be a nice guy and don't do anything silly like clicking on your own ads or asking your friends to do that for u(verbally or on site itself).
Yup, you definitely sound like you've learned your lesson, dommike67. "blaablalba" indeed. P.S. They'll probably ban you at the end of the month, or when you've generated enough money to get paid just to stick it to you.
I think I may have clicked on my own ads too, when I first signed up for adsense.. it was just a test.. I haven't got any email from google yet..
