Kind of small dilemma here. I was wondering whether i can use another blogs exact post, if i link to the blog. E.G url of where the article came from below the same post?

If you're in the US, no, you definitely can't, because it's illegal, link or not. Check the laws where you live, but if the copyright holder finds out, you run the risk of having your host shut down your blog.

Everyone says this, but there is an exception.
    Permission.
Ask for it. Many bloggers will be flattered. Some will politely decline. Hard to imagine anything much worse from a simple, hi, your post was perfect, is it available to repost on my blog? Accept whatever answer they give and abide by it. Who knows? You might make a valuable contact.
Don't ever do this without e-mail permission at least. But there's no harm in asking, IMO. Whether or not they accept will depend on who they are.

If their article is that great, and you're already prepared to link to them, and to take a couple of minutes to write about here, why not just write your own post about how great their post is? It wouldn't take more than a couple of minutes, then you both have unique content and everyone is happy.

You can clip and snip a blog entry but that is theft of intellectual property. The best ideas about what to do have already been mentioned so try one of them:

    1. ask permission from the original content creator to report their blog entry
    2. write about how great the original entry is on your blog and then link to it
    3. come up with your own original content either by writing it yourself or pay a content writer to do it

Always ask permission, and always quote anything rather than just posting it straight out - keep all sources visible and don't just post nothing but them.

Ask permission first. If the author says no (or doesn't respond) you can't repost the blog, link or not.

You can post a few snippets from the blog post and fill in your thoughts. Readers typically like this if it's done well. Even then, you still have to give credit to the original author of the quotes.

You should not take the entire content from the blog and paste it in your blog. Yes, I know, you would give him link back, still, bloggers in general don't like this practice.

Put yourself in their shoes, would you like someone using your content in their site irrespective of link back??

The idea is, take their content (view) and embed/expand it with your own thoughts.

Unless you are as big as slashdot ur reader also will leave your site for the original source...:)

as long as the link back is clear its fine, i wont have any issue some one take my content give a clear link @ my blog .
sometimes its crazy , as few ppl keep the link so small hardly visible, or they would just write the text .

Why don't you get approval from the blog itself? Contacting them is the fastest method and is danger free too.

I run a news blog on my forum, I don't have the time to write articles myself on the continuing news, but I use Yahoo, Cnet, IGN, and newspapers. I always link the the source and never take credit for it, however, I would never use an actual 'article' on a particular subject that wasn't news without the author/site's permission.

The best course of action would be to ask the blogger for permission to use his post. If you're linking to his blog, I don't see why he wouldn't allow it... I mean come on, who turns down free traffic? ;)
