Am I allowed to post more than one Ad Unit on a page?

    Hello,

I've read somewhere that "AdSense wants to attract quality content sites, and will only allow AdSense members to serve one ad per page – the service can’t be used for both banners and skyscrapers". The article isn't that new (June 25th 2003) but I'm a little worried about it.

Can someone explain to me this rule?
    Thank you.

I would say 3 ads will do the trick, it's what Google recommends as well :) Any type of ad as long as it's not overwhelming to the eyes of your viewers. As for the skyscrapers good question, wait for a adsense guru to reply and see what they say. Sorry I couldn't be of any help on this.

    Thank you.

I also want to know any of this type of "too much" or a little subjective rules, like you said, that it has to "not overwhelming to the eyes of your viewers"...

I'm worried because I read some articles yesterday about some banned (for life!) accounts, and how great AdSense is when it comes to the earning from paid ads.

    You mean 3 ad units + 3 link units (=6)? Not 3 ad units / 3 link units (=3)...

    * Up to three ad units may be displayed on each page.
    * A maximum of two Google AdSense for search boxes may be placed on a page.
    * Up to three link units may also be placed on each page.
    * Up to three referral units may be displayed on a page, in addition to the ad units, search boxes, and link units specified above.
    * AdSense for search results pages may show only a single ad link unit in addition to the ads Google serves with the search results. No other ads may be displayed on your search results page.
    * No Google ad or Google search box may be displayed in a pop-up, pop-under, or in an email.
    * Elements on a page must not obscure any portion of the ads.
    * No Google ad may be placed on any non-content-based pages.
    * No Google ad may be placed on pages published specifically for the purpose of showing ads, whether or not the page content is relevant.

The 4th rule says "Up to three referral units may be displayed on a page, in addition to the ad units, search boxes, and link units specified above"...

I don't really understand if "Up to three link units may also be placed on each page" means that I can add 3 add units + 3 link units.

In particular, on my page I have a skyscraper, 2 banners (468x60) and a link unit. Is that ok?

2 banners and skyscraper together makes 3 ad unit
so you can add 2 more link unit.

3 banners would be enough to scare people off if not positioned well enough i think.

    Wait, what?

It's a total of 3 units of any kind. Or am I missing something.
