Hi I am a new member of CJ and I was wondering whether it would be against the terms and conditions to advertise and encourage people to buy the products that I am promoting on my site through my site? Thanks for your help
Yes you can do that. Some networks state that you can't build a site who's purpose is only to make money from your affiliates, but if you talk to them they encourage you to do just that. I don't think CJ even has anything in it's terms that stops you from doing that. Otherwise, your affiliate links would be nothing more then adsense alternatives. There would be no way you could promote your advertisers products with PPC. Better safe then sorry though. Just contact the advertisers with any plans you have and clear it with them first. You should be fine though.
I recommend tons of products to buy but only things I really thinks are worth mentioning. Be selective!
Yes, that is the whole purpose of affiliate marketing. However, do NOT encourage people to click on your google ads if you have them.
You can feature items on there using their product catalog, they provide codes that include an image, description and also a buy button so people interested can click and be redirected to their site to buy...its pretty cool
Try to recommend products that you can vouch for somehow. In other words, try not to promote crap if you can help it. Recommend the good stuff.
Obviously you CAN recommend specific products, that's the point, but I wonder if that applies to things like banner ads? Some networks don't like you saying "click on the banner at the top", just like radio and TV presenters must NEVER refer to the content of commercials played. Worth checking.
CJ doesn't pay per click, so you can encourage your visitors to click all you want - but unless it's something that your visitors are interested in, nobody will buy.
Don't confuse 'Encourage people to buy from my advertisers' and 'incentive campaigns'. Meaning, it's perfectly alright to recommend a product you offer or affiliate for. However, some programs will not allow you to 'pay' your visitors for signing up or buying their products. Each programs specific TOS can be found within it's general tab at CJ. Some allow it, some don't, just make sure you find out before paying people to fill in fields.
Right, since you'll only get paid for actual conversions, you should feel free to tell people to go buy stuff. However, if you have any per-click programs, or freebie programs, you may not want to overdo it.
Yeah but don't go telling people just to click. There's a lot of different per-click programs out there, and some of them will allow you to promote the products behind the links, but not the links themselves. Just don't try that with Google Adsense.
don't just tell them to buy, tell them why the product provides value to them, and provide them a link to it, they will do the rest
I build niche sites around specific needs such as health, beauty, etc. On each page of these sites is a problem and one or more solutions. Example: acne probems -> I detail the acne problem and the suffering it causes and then provide several links to creams, etc. I tell the reader to go get them to end their suffering. It is very effective. I have sites over a year old that still bring me sales. TomG.
