Am I allowed to do this to increase CTR?

I'm thinking of removing the titles that say 'sponsored links' or 'ads by Gooooogle' as a way to not let my visitors have the consciousness that those are ads and thereby increase the chances for clicks. Someone actually suggested it at a seminar I just attended. So, who can help. Is it allowed?

Yes. Infact some CMS like drupal has AdSense Module where mentioning a name is mandatory. But there are mods even in those CMS where it is not needed. You can blend the ads in the contents. No probsl

100% do it!!! And get banned by tomorrow. Google TOS prevents any mods of the code. Whoever raised this at your seminar is an idiot. Do this and you WILL get banned, very fast. READ THE TOS THAT YOU SIGNED UPTO!!!!

Banner and other ads are just placed on the template and dont have and mods to add Ads. And it is mentioned not to use any other words other than "sponsored link" in the block header. But it is not mentioned to use a heading . So if you choose a block title like "you may like this" over the ads , you are banned

but if you dont write anything, thats perfect

I agree with this 100% but what he was actually asking could he remove 'sponsored links' or 'ads by Gooooogle' from the ads/code, and that is 100% heading for big time ban. I just cannot believe how many people sign up for adsense and ignore the legal contract they have signed up to and then waste our time on here winging when they have been banned. Personally if I went to a seminar and someone raised this and wasn't shot down in flames by whoever was running it, I'd get up and leave the seminar.

This will obviously be against Google's Adsense TOS.

How to remove "ads by google" from ads without modifying code? OMG... Is he talking about changing the code itself? No way.

@Rupam Das - OMG! I thought you are a good adviser before reading this comment of yours.

@nairesearch - If you are an Adsense Publisher already, I think you know the rules/TOS of adsense and you know the answer yourself. :D If you want to increase your earnings, alteast post 5,000 articles in your website. This advice is no joke, it's true. It's like dropping a single needle in sea of needle, atleast drop thousand and thousand of your article in Search Engine so your website increase the chance of getting more traffic = more income.

    PATIENCE is the key..

Though you are not allowed to mod the adsense code, but you can clearly bring out in the template whether this is an ad or not by giving 'Sponsored By' etc, but IMO there is no requirement of doing it by explicitly announcing that you are showing ads, let the visitors take the conscious decision to click or not.

I second Rupam Das, how can the OP would talk about removing the "sponsored links" or "ads by gooooogle" when what you're all talking about is titled "AdChoices" ?

Obviously the OP is talking about "sponsored links" or "advertizements" which are the authorised LABELS (and variations of it) by adsense.. the OP made a mistake by citing "ads by gooogle" which is not a suggested label, but just what was written before adsense changed it to AdChoices... Now, Adsense suggested those labels just as an alternative to "visit our sponsors" and "click below for more information" and other such tricks that people label the ads in order to have more clicks..

So for those labels, yes you can put NOTHING, adsense doesn't say that you must label ads with anything, it simply says you can't label the ads with text which will confuse users into clicking the ads.

go through the adsense TOS, it clearly specify that adsense publisher shall not change any code.
By the way, that's still possible to show the ads without those "adchoices", "sponsored by" etc only if you are premium member
