Sorry to be asking but Google really never make their rules clear and then they ban people... even though it was their fault for not making their rules clear. I just recently changed my ad format on one of my sites. Now I know the query of images next to ads has always been sketchy but I heard before you were allowed if there was a space / border between. Now, I've put images next to ads here but there is a space between. But just recently my friend told me it has been confirmed and you're not allowed images anywhere near ads at all? Can someone who knows take a look at this (ads at top of the page, under header) and tell me if this is ok or if it will get me ban and I should change it: http://www.gervaisworld.com Thank you.
No, recently they changed their rules. No images beside ads. Definitely against TOS. I recommend changing it quick. Straight from their blog: http://adsense.blogspot.com/2006/12/ad-and-image-placement-policy.html
No it's working... If it in anyway suggests a relationship between ads and picture, then it is against the TOS.
Thanks guys, glad I checked here. I was just experimenting for a long time with ad formats on that site. I get about... 150 - 200 + uniques a day and like... no clicks, maybe the odd few now n then. I try to make my content as good as possible, maybe it's too good and people are just subconciously blocking out the ads! It's hard to get the balance right, but the images next to the ads got me 3 clicks today, changed it now tho: http://www.gervaisworld.com
