I'm preparing to update my blog site from static html to wordpress and I'm almost done archiving all the old posts into the new wp install. The site has a PR4 and a good few backlinks from other blogs and one or two from bigger sites like Boingboing. Obviously when I unleash the new site the original permalinks will be no more. I don't want to lose all that traffic, so I'm thinking of using a redirect on the old permalinks to their new URLs-- a 'This page has moved' sort of thing. My question is: will this kill my pagerank and search placements? Would like to hear your input
