If you think that you have what it takes to promote, market and make money in travel industry but don't have the resources to "put your foot in the door" why not to give it try on someone else's web?

Lately, due to other commitments, I have been forced to neglect my beloved 1+ year old established travel site with Asian market focus WorldTravelAsia.

As I hate to watch it sliding in both PR and Alexa rankings, but I am not yet ready to let it go to just about anybody (often the case if sold) I would love to find some travel enthusiast to take care of it while I keep looking over his/her shoulder.

So what I propose is: I will rent you this site very cheaply for a period of 3-6 months and if we are both happy with the outcome after that I will sell it to you for a very reasonable price.

    Some cold hard facts:
    Established:
around Jan 2006 first as a static site than moved into blogging format (hence you may not see the blog entries dated all the way back; pls check for yourself)
    Functionality: Runs on Wordpress
    PR: 2
Alexa: To my best recollection reached around 300k's at "peak times" now due to my forced negligence in 1mils :(
Daily visitors: very dismal lately, again I can only blame my negligence for this
    Earnings:
To date (monetized only about 6-7 months ago) the site earned about:
    $200 from hotel booking commissions
    $150 from sponsored articles
    $50 from AdSense

I am sure there is more money to be made than this ie. one paid article from ReviewMe or PayPerPost will fetch you min. betw. $5-10, AdSense used to make around $0.5-1 daily, there is no TLA or similar on the site as it was not yet approved for it, other travel related affiliate links/sale could be added etc etc.

And that is exactly what I am willing to rent it out for! One paid article! ie. $10/month for 3-6 months after that we can either terminate this cooperation or sale on agreement (ie. the rental price is there for you to show me your real commitment!).

During the "renting period" I will give the new prospective owner full rights to do anything on the site he/she desires. Yes you hear me right. You can change, monetize, adjust or sale anything your heart desire in order to make dream travel site (and some money on the way of course) your own.

So that is the deal. Try your skills and own an established website for a price little more than hosting alone! You can cover all your costs (ie. "rent") by writing one paid article so really there is no financial risk to you at all is there?

If interested, send me a PM or post here, I leave it up to you.

So guys no one is interested in this proposal? I know its no get rich quick proxy scheme but rather a get rich quick slowly scenario but I can't believe there is
nobody actually looking to earn few rather easy dollars without most of the hard work.

    Drop me a pm.

    Cheers

I need a travel website that is getting a high volume of traffic. Budget is not an issue if the site is getting high amounts of visitors. I'll be happy with the proposal, but the traffic as of now just doesn't seem enough

    Thanks for your interest guys.

Well sure the visits are not there as you can see from the plumeting Alexa ranking and I will repeat its again, its only because I neglected this site for so long.

So current uniques are not really worth mentioning. If it was I can assure you that I would not be asking such a laughable amount for rent/sale.

    cheers

I think it's a pretty nifty site jkoll
    I didn't see a min-bid, so I'll start the bidding at $10..

    Good luck with this sale!

who writes the reviews? do you actually go and stay and then write? and do you have a list of hotels to be reviewed for booking commissions?

Beacon: Pls read my entire proposal as per my very first post. I think you misunderstood as this is NOT an auction. Its rent at first and sale later (3-6 mos down the road) upon mutual agreement with the "renter".

Dragon: Finally some factual questions as far as the content goes, thank you. So those country travel guides (as you see on the pages ie. Singapore, Thailand etc) I put together myself based on my travel experience + related research around the Net. So they are 100% original.

    The Hotel Reviews:
The site is affiliate of one of the largest in the game hotelclub.com. I am not saying they are the best to be affiliate with or that they have the best affiliate payout policies but I pick them all those months back and stuck with them. To date they brought me around $200 in commissions - I may have done better with somebody else but I may have also done much worse. As per my original proposal I will give the potential new owner full authority to add/change/modify the site's affiliate relationships if required.

So as it goes, hotelclub does provide its affiliates with full comprehensive data about each of their partner hotels. So I keep entering the relevant hotels slowly as I go, normally picking up the ones which are at time featured with some specials on Hotelclub.com (in general I always try to pick the cheaper and more affordable ones for that site). So yes the list of hotels I can provide or it can be downloaded from the affiliate part of hotelclub's web.

Having said that I also travel a bit around Asia (currently temp living in Thailand) so I also visit some of the hotels and stay in them to find out how are they like. If I like it I than list it on the site. I never really approached the hotel management directly with any kind of business proposal as I feel the site still needs to grow a little bigger before those kind of deals are viable.

So traveling around helps but by no means its a necessary condition to make money from that site.

As for the articles - again I used to write some based on my travels but lately due to other commitments I tend to rely on articles from article directories. I still try to choose them carefully and keep it relevant to my overall "asian travel" niche.

I hope I answered everything to your full satisfaction, pls let me know if that is not the case.

    cheers
