    Hi all,

I'm new to adsense, so please don't laugh at me if anything. Just learning yet, hope you can understand that :)

So, i've noticed that people coming from stumbleupon never click on ads. Whenever i get a traffic boost from there my ctr drops drastically. Is it the same problem with a traffic from all such sites or a specific issue with stumbleupon?

And here are my apx. stats for the last 7 days

will not post my pageviews, but GA says i had 1300 visits (from which stumbleupon: ~250, SEs: ~100). Not much of SE traffic, because it's a new site. First indexed by google something like 25 days ago.

    clicks: 20
    revenue ~$10

Btw, i have no actuall niche, just writing in general topics.

It would be great if i had better CTR, but my ads are already all over the fold, blended, placed inside content, etc. One step further and this would a real MFA site. But i won't do that no matter how hard living with a low CTR seems to be :)

Any opinions on stats? Or about stumbleupon?

Buddy most of the users from stumble and digg are webmasters and they all know about adsense . These sites help you to get indexed fast and get more traffic but for adsense earning we need search engine organic traffic .

Hm, you say these sites help to get indexed? As far as i saw all the links are made nofollow at least on stumbleupon. So that's really no help to get indexed. Or did i miss something?

It's common that traffic that comes from stumbleupon never really convert well. I prefer those targeted traffic coming from search engines. Perhaps, you can try working on different placement to see how everything works out.

CTR is greater with targeted traffic whereas the one from bookmarking websites can hardly be monetized. Aim for the search engine traffic.

    Thanks for your replies.

I just started enjoying researching keywords ;-) I currently spend most of my time to target for the keywords that are searched for a few thousand times a month and for what google's 1st SERP is full of N/A to PR1 pages. It works so well! I get indexed and take some 3rd position on google for those keywords in a couple of hours after posting an article. And the traffic really monetizes well. The only thing is that these keywords are usually extremely cheap, so i must hope for those visitors to check my other pages too. Anyways that publicity for free is a great thing i suppose ;-)
