    Okay,

I've been here asking for help on how to get my site out there, pleading with to tell me how to get traffic to my site.

Well, I did. I got on the front page of Shoutwire about a blog post about a USB Coffee Warmer.

I submitted it about 5 days back. No one really shouted it. Then I checked my stats yesterday when I came home: 222 hits.

That's not all. By the end of the day there had been 1125 hits. I usually average 60-100.

Today as I write this it's already at 600+. Bandwidth is getting sucked. I'm at 52% for the month and I can only hope they don't suck it all.

I wanted exposure and I sure as hell got it. But was it good or not?

Yeah are your profits up due to this influx of traffic thanks to DP members?

Hehe, just kidding... but I don't see how people think that using all their bandwidth up is a negative thing. I love that 'Your hosting account is at critical....99% bandwidth usage' email from my host every month.

Did you make more than the bandwidth costs?

That kind of traffic doesn't usually convert well, but it does help a site's SE ranking.

As long as you didn't lose money, That's the main thing.

Bandwidth is pretty inexpensive these days. You might have to buy some extra this month, but I don't see how that's bad, given how much exposure you got. And I'm assuming that you got some revenue, too, right?

I had 1400 visit my site today, but my profit didn't increase.

I heard that sites like shoutwire and digg don't generate too much profit. And I can say that it's pretty true.

But you get a SICK amount of traffic.

And now I have tons of links from people in other forums who have posted about it.

It was a post I made about a USB Coffee Warmer. Didn't think it would spread like wildfire.

Congratulations! Now just make sure you have the bandwidth to cover the rest of the month..! Never complain about traffic increases, just incase it happens to be a daydream, hehe.

I get around 5k total daily uniques on one of my accounts and i only end up using 40% of my bandwidth at the end of the month. I pay just $10/month as well.
