Alternatives to working from "home" while keeping the same job

Hey guys, just wanted to see who else around here has a job where they work from home but get bored. It gets somewhat boring and (since I live alone) lonely at times working on the net and I am very used to the community aspect of working at a brick and mortar establishment - chatting with coworkers at any given time and such. I really like all the other aspects of this job though, so I was trying to brainstorm some places to take a laptop to and work at.

What have been your experiences with places with wireless access such as:
    Coffe shops
    Restaurants
    Book stores
    Libraries

    or others?

I would imagine some places might get upset if you stay there for 8 hours or so while others might be more used to it (or ignore it).

I work all day either from Home or go sometime in Cafe.
There are moments back but can't think right at the moment. :)

How long do you stay at the cafe? Is it a place you can work for an extended period of time? Do you live in the US? What kind of reactions do you get from the staff and customers?

It is very distracting to work in a public place.. maybe you can work in a cafe for couple of hour if you encounter problems with your home internet connection, but for a whole day... geez

Well I would love to work from home since other places are not safe and it might create problems too. So better to stay home and stay safe.:)

I have been doing freelance writing for quite some time but have only been doing it full-time since April. Since I was now trying to replace my old job income, rather than supplementing it, I became somewhat hyperfocused on work. I finally realized that I was getting burned out from sitting in front of the computer for 12-14 hours per day.

If your job requires you to work a set time schedule, there really isn't much that you can do to change that. I agree with a previous poster in saying that a public place would probably prove quite distracting. However, if you can determine your own schedule, then there are things you can do to break up the monotony.

Take a break periodically and get away from the computer. I use my breaks to clean the house so I am not stuck with doing that after finishing my work. I don't live alone so I know that I will have someone to talk to at some point - I don't need the contact that you are craving. You could take a walk, phone a friend...whatever you feel like doing that provides the social interaction that you are missing.
