Alternatives to Wordtracker?

I;ve tried a few different tools for keyword research and I like Wordtracker, but don;t like paying the $$. Anyone have any good cheap or free alternatives for keyword research that use something similar to KEI in Wordtracker to weed out keywords that have a low search value to competition ratio?

Thanks. I'll check it out, but it's still $45/month.

Platinum KeyWords gives a KEI for each word and a keyword difficulty based on how many website target that word, and how many incoming backlinks have the websites in the top 10 for that given word, you get a rel idea of how hard or easy is to make it into the top 10.
You can find it at www.website-promoter.net

This looks like a Windows-only downloadable app. Know of anything similar for the Mac?

I've used the seobook tool and that's probably the best free one I've seen. Still doesn't show something similar to KEI. Also with Aaron's tool, I find that I get the same results if I enter a keyword as a broad, [exact], or "phrase match". Doesn't it make more sense to build a keyword list based on exact or phrase matches, to make sure it's properly targeted?
