Alternative to Google Analytics?

In the past I used AWStats, along with some other log tools, but have been giving GA a run and I rather like it. However I don’t like the idea of Google having its fingers in my pocket at all time by not only providing traffic, PPC income, but also having stats as well.

So I would really love something as good as quality that is web based as it. It if be Open Source, server installed scripts, or paid for http tools I’m interested in recommendations.

Yes, stat counter is the next best thing compared to Google Analytics, but GA is better. ;)

I have a few gripes about analytics, overall its the best I've seen but there's a few things I'd like to modify

Does anyone know of a consulting firm that can do a custom analytics package?

    PM me if you do.

Yeah, I got confused with l3vi's post for a minute? :confused:lol. GA is so far the best but it's not as up-to-the-minute as I would like it to be.

I use both statcounter and analytics.
Statcounter has the advantage that you can see the exact referring urls and the data is updated real time. But the log is limited to last 500 pageviews.

ive looked and looked and nothing really compairs to Google Analytics.

Ive used sitemeter/statcounter and both of them are okay, but they dont deliever what I want. Saying that applications like haveamint.com is quite good but there is some issues with that software and I dont feel comfortable using it.

Trying to find another stats program I came accross this just now. http://www.d4wstats.com/web-stats-pro

It looks good. If your worried aboug google having its finger in your stats you should be concerned with other companies doing the exact same thing! So you should be looking for something that is installed and hosted by yourself.
