I'm planning on transferring all of my domains out of Go Daddy because I don't like their policy of confiscating domain names for what they call spamming (which really isn't spamming at all). I'm looking for a good alternative. I'd like to get the following: * Free DNS * Easy-to-use account interface * Free private registration (nice, but not necessary for me) I figured I might as well use the experience and knowledge of the Site Pointers around here to save myself time and hassle and avoid making a bad decision, so I made this post. Thanks for your assistance.
I would recommend namecheap, I've used them for quite a few years now. I only started using Godaddy recently for 2 of my domain names due to a special offer, but I do partially wish I went with namecheap. The only time I never used namecheap otherwise is for .tv's, and then I use name.com
I would recommend you to use Name.com and its interface is very good and very reliable.I have been using name.com from 4 years and till now i have not faced any problem.Name.com also dont shoot elephants like Godaddy.
Haha, i use name.com also for Godaddy alternative, reasonable and reliable service. two domain registrars is quite enough IMO.
I can vouch for http://1and1.com. They have free private registration. The cost is $8.99/year although I think they're bumping it up to $9.99/year soon.
yes,Raspee you are right.Name is bets registrar becasue they provide free who.is,their interface is also easy and they also provide coupons which reduces the price of domain registration
I would recommend namecheap.com I moved over to them from Godaddy too, it has a very easy to use user interface, it's nameserver transfer time is "a lot" quicker than Godaddy too.
If free private whois not a big issue, you can choose namecheap, name or dynadot. But if you would like to get free private whois, try internet.bs
Another vote for Name.com I've used them for years with no problems and love their simple backend. Their private registration is $1.99 (I think) for the first year, but you can use the code FREEWHOIS to get it for free.
I suppose that there are many alternatives available in the market.. Choose Registrar that has at least several accreditations. What domains are you planning to reg?
