Alternative to Adsense

Are there any alternatives to adsense. I want to show something when adsense has no ads to show. Sometimes, 25-50% of my pages do not show any ads. (I am sure its not a problem with inventory because they have a ton of ads that could be shown on those pages. I realise they try to show the most relevant to the page content but couldn't they show something that is at least quite relevant. I have missed out on some potential clicks as a result. Being in the UK rules out YPN. I want to be able to show it on exactly the same spot where the Google ads are. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Really there is not anything worth mentioning at this time. YPN is great and in many cases better than Adsense. But, as you stated it's not available outside the U.S. :(

No wonder Yahoo can't compete with Google. Its taking them ages to roll out their advertsing internationally. I would not be surprised if Microsoft do it before them despite starting much later.

What I have done is a page where I show banners from affiliate programs where I'm as a member. I have this page as alternative page (google_alternate_ad_url = "http://xxx";). Most of the time these wont bring any income, because banners suck, but sometimes it happens that I can sell something and get some money.

The only problem is that I don't really want banners mid content. Idon't mind showing them on the sides but not mid content.

Anyway, it probably takes a period months before Google starts showing ads most of the time. I see a lot of old sites not really having a problem with Google not showing ads when you load a page.

They wouldn't provide payments per click, but you could carry traffic exchange ads such as those at www.freetrafficbar.com. They would provide ad credits each time your page loads. A way of developing traffic on your pages where you can't find decent adsense ads and they provide benefit to you each time the page loads rather than only when people click.

Adsence is not making much money for small site. no point to spend too much time on it if the traffic is low.

You have plenty of affiliate programs in UK and they allmost all have textlinks too. Just make a page where you put short textlink in a 468x60 table. Oh! It looks just like an AdSense ad! I've seen Eric Giguire from "Make Easy Money with Google and AdSense" doing it.
