Alternative of authorize.net? Looking for lowest cost of even free if possible

Hi,
Can anyone suggest an alternative CC gateway with the lowest cost or even free? Of course it should be reliable enough.
Authorize.net and 2checkout is so costly.

What is too costly? The processing fees, or the fixes fees? There are fixed costs with accepting credit cards. No matter what you look for, you won't find less than 2% for online transactions.

 

I went with a full merchant account. If you have a decent usage and do the math, you actually come out better with a full merchant account.

For me, I pay $15 a month for my gateway (authorize.net) and another $10 for statement fee per month, but save over 2% per transaction. The $25 a month is well worth it for me.

Call around about Authorize.Net, I believe MerchantExpress has it as an option in the US for $15 or so per month with a merchant account.
