I very much like the keyword tracker that Shawn has kindly provided free-of-charge http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/keywords/ however are there any alternatives?

I'm quite happy to even use a standalone windows version as Shawns' one can be very unresponsive for me at times .... I'm thinking this may be a trait of web based tools? (correct me if I'm wrong please)

    Key points

    1. Must have history of positions within search engines e.g. day, week month. (like Shawns' one)
    2. must be able to contain have over 100+ phrases
    3. would be a bonus if it had inbuilt ability to check at pre-determined periods.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

    Regards

    Stuey

Actually, the bottleneck is the Google API. The Yahoo API is fast (if you check Yahoo keywords, I bet it's faster than Google ones for you). That being the case, it doesn't matter if it's online or offline, you still are going to have the same slowness problem with the Google queries during peak times of the day.

    Appricate the advice Shawn.

As you are so well versed on this, would you guestimate that Google are working on a remedy for this problem? ... I'm presuming this is affecting all users of the Google API system. .... which can't be good.

I certainly hope they fix it someday (and assume they will), but I haven't heard anything about it myself, so I have no timeframe.
