    Hello experts,

May you guide me how to get to build a links just like adsense so that we could replace it with PSA ads instead.

I simply have no clue how to go about doing such thing.

    Greatly appreciate your response,

    Toby,

    Hi Toby,

If I'm understanding your question correctly, you're looking for a way to replace AdSense PSAs with substitute ads that look identical to AdSense...right? If so, a simple solution you may want to look at is Allfeeds.com's 'Google Backfill' program. It's a dedicated program that allows you to create a single URL (per website) that you can place in the Alternate URL field of your AdSense code, and will automatically serve Allfeeds ads in place of PSAs. The ads are automatically formatted to match your AdSense format, so it's pretty easy to set up and use. I've used this program on several of my sites (I'm an affiliate publisher), and have had good success with it. You can click on the link in my signature if you want more information.

    HTH,

It might be a good idea to not make the alternative ads look too much like adsense, if you have other adsense units on the same page. Also, making the ads look different wil increase the chance of them sticking out, rather than people glancing briefly and assuming: yet another google ad.

    Hi Ryan,

If I understand the AdSense program correctly, Google will only turn to the Alternate URL if there are no AdSense ads to serve. For pages with multiple AdSense blocks, and if any AdSense ads are served, it will simply leave the remaining AdSense blocks empty.

If there is one ad unit, then no problem. But if the page has 2 (or more) adunits but adsense only has enough ads for one unit, the other unit is filled by PSA url... and it looks like adsense. It might be a problem, so always best to check with The Big G.

I don't think it's a problem, using an alternate ad of anykind is our concern not big G's :D

    Hey Ryan,

I understand what you're saying, but it's the "Alternate ads, if specified, will be shown when there are no targeted ads available for your page" line that makes me think that your Alternate URL wouldn't be used if any AdSense ads are served. If this is not the case, then this line should really read "Alternate ads, if specified, will be shown when there are no targeted ads available for an individual ad unit.

I've already confirmed (with Google) that Allfeeds' 'Google Backfill' program is compliant with the ToS, but I didn't go to this level of detail. Since it's always possible that this represents a "grey area", I'll send an email to AdSense Support and report out here when I hear back. Thanks for your input. :)

Just use div and css. Specifically look up making borders, specifying height/width and applying text formating. Save it as a html file, upload it and specify it as the atlernative url in your adsense code.

Just a quick update on the above, from the 'Better Late Than Never Department'. ;) Hopefully this will be helpful to others who may be in the same situation. :)
