Alternate DigitalPoint Domain?

OK I work for an agency within the U.S. DOD and forums.digitalpoint.com has been blocked :(

Is there an alternate domain I can use to access DP?

I cannot use a proxy as most proxy websites are blocked. Is there another domain that Shawn owns that he has pointing to DP? I sure hope so!!

As you can see I'm such a DP junkie It's 2:30 am and I'm on DP :(

Seriously though I just happened to wake up and thought I'd better check DP while I can because I can't at work tomorrow. I do a lot of commerce on DP and find since the block I waste a lot of time on inferior forums when all the action is here!

I've subscribed to this thread so I'll get an email with your reply if you reply here so please let me know if there is ANY other way to access DP!

Just setup your own proxy and don't tell anyone about it. Then, it won't be blocked by your employers content filtering software.

Any proxies that allow login and posting though?

I have my one at georgeboone.com/surf but it sucks...

Anyway to set up a fancy DNS solution on my dedicated server to proxy digitalpoint stuff to another domain I own?

Replace phproxy with cgiproxy and you should be sweet. (cgiproxy can do forms etc)

I'm crashing here, so the thoughts aren't quite coming out right, but either PHPProxy or CGIProxy should do the trick for you.

Or, I am thinking that you could just point a domain of your own at the ip 216.9.35.50. That might work. Or heck, just browse to http://216.9.35.50.

Also, see if deepdish.digitalpoint.com is blocked for you. That's the same server.

Life is a lot easier without HTTP1.1 virtual servers! :)

You know what... I got REALLY excited when I saw "deepdish.digitalpoint.com"/

But when I put it in my browser it just 301s and puts forums.digitalpoint in teh address bar so that won't work :(

    So does http://216.9.35.50

Sorry, my brain fell asleep before my fingers. Go CGIProxy. :)

Also, my brain continues to claim that making your own DNS record should work.

But it says a lot of things... test everything.

Nope, any access to the site that isn't forums.digitalpoint.com (for example direct IP access) is redirected to the proper URL, so it wouldn't work.

Depending on what is blocked by your employer, you might be able to us Tor. Another option is to connect to your home machine from work and browse using Windows Remote Desktop, VNC, or something similar. Alternatively you could just setup your home machine to be a proxy server and connect to it from work.
