    As you mentions url that "surf now" if alter from adsense, it's against adsense TOS

    Probably he is mentioning the search bar right below the nav bar. If its that, its against TOS.

    You're not allowed to modify ANY Adsense code--be it Content or Search codes.

    Most of it is not altering the code though, for instance they've done this:

    Code (markup):
    Which is in the style sheets, no the Google code.
    I'll try and send them an e-mail about it :)

    i modified once the search button on my page (added the website's style). Also, I added the website's style to the search text field. Nothing bad happened, and I kept it on my website for 5 months.
