Alt Vs. Title

ALT is specific to images, whereas TITLE is often applied to links. Can the TITLE tag be put on an image also? and possibly other elements too? or does it get disregarded by the SE's?

    My dear Friend

Why you want to use title tag when you are having alread ALT tag for image and Title tag for text ?

Secondly there will neither be any problem to search engine nor to seo but use what is generally accepted.

Cool Mate and Enjoy your day

You better not. A better idea is to play with your visible keyword density because as GG have always insisted, one should optimize a site for visitors not Bots. I am not saying Alt tags are disregarded but, anyway, work with your body text to increase/decrease density.

As you yourself said: Alt is for images and Title for links. Leave it that way and you'll face no trouble.

I use both title and alt tags for my images. It is also for accessibility reasons.. IE needs title tag for images in order for the description to appear upon mouse hover.

use the alt tags, when images are unavailable people can know what they are missing.

ALT and Title attributes, not tags. Anyway, they will help you enhance the time your visitors spend on the site by making the site appear more friendly. I also use them both, cause IE only displays the title as a hint (mouse-over text).

I doubt very much that adding title to images, assuming you already have alt in place will help seo. - In my opinion the cleaner the code is, the better the results will get. ;)
