Hi! I have my title set to my product text aswell as my h1-tag and part of my description. The product has several images on the page, if I set the alt-text on these images to the product text aswell, would this be considered keyword stuffing? Let's say there are 3-5 pictures. What kind of text should I have otherwise? The site is dynamic. Thanks
We use alt text relating to the our product image (multiple times on each page), or even with the page title inside it, and have for years. All seems to be fine with this method. I believe if you were to put a completely unreasonable amount of words in the alt text field, or if it does not relate to your page content or the image itself, then that would be considered spamming. Anyone else feel this way too?
I agree. I always put descriptive text there, for two reasons. SEO, and accessibility. Not everyone has images enabled in their browser, so if you put alt text in navigation images, it can help those people who don't render images (for example the blind, who use screen readers).
I agree with Tara. Just use common sense. Describe the images with your keywords where it makes sense. If you overdo it, there is a risk of a penalty. For your case, maybe put your main keyword in the largest image's alt tags. Then for the other alt tag use some related keywords. I wouldn't use the same alt text on different graphics on the same page.
Use a few keywords in moderation in the alt text for images AND navigation. I find it helps - but don't be spammy about it.
It's OK to use your keywords in the ALTs, just don't exaggerate. I'm sure having your keyword once in some of the ATL texts will give you a small advantage.
It can provide some SEO benefit, but keep in mind, you do have visually impaired people surfing the net (ie. my mom ... hehehehe), the more ALT tags in images, the more their screenreaders have to say. It gets annoying on some sites. Maybe the search engines will address this type of spam.
No, this may not lead to keyword stuffing provided that you don't use the same keyword for more than one image.H1 tags does work good for your titles as per SEO point of view.
