Hey Guys: Do the Alt Gifs have any influence in the SERP´s just like a text link? If not, is there any way how to make pics just like a text link? Thanks.
They need to be linked to have any effect. For example, a logo in the top left makes sense to link back to the home page. It's pretty much a standard. Most people expect to get back home by clicking the logo. Your alt text will then have some validity and the link should include title="". /*tom*/
Theres a video from matt cutts on this. It answered all your questions. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3NbuDpB_BTc
Alt tags serves as a meta tag of an image. Alt tags helps your image rankings of your selected keyword.
But also enriching other parts of page with relevant contents according to the image helps too. Title tag, description tag, paragraph contents, ect. mentioning about image is good example.
alt text can help your image to be searchable.. its a text label of the image.. since search engine only use text query for any site, images... etc etc..
i want the actual url to be better ranked via an image with alt text used as an anchor and the url linked to the image, does this help? just like a text link?
